The relationship between two companies gets a row of its own
A connection is permission to exchange offers — its own record, apart from any agreement.

Who you work with used to be inferred from the letters you'd exchanged — an invite sent, an assignment proposed, whatever else implied two companies knew each other. There was nowhere that just said so.

A connection is now a thing in its own right: permission to exchange offers with a company, sitting apart from any agreement or work already in flight. Nobody can drop an offer into your inbox without one. It has a state you can actually read — requested, connected, declined — and either side can end it at any time, without touching offers already sent or any agreement or assignment already running. One record of who you work with, rather than something inferred from whatever correspondence happens to exist.
